SIGIR is the major international forum for the presentation of new research results and for the demonstration of new systems and techniques in the broad field of information retrieval (IR). The Conference and Program Chairs invite all those working in areas related to IR to submit original papers, posters, and proposals for tutorials, workshops, and demonstrations of systems. SIGIR 2010 welcomes contributions related to any aspect of IR theory and foundation, techniques, and applications. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

12 Feb 2010 : Posters, demonstration, and tutorial proposals due
4 Mar 2010 : Notification of workshop acceptances
7 Mar 2010 : Doctoral consortium proposals due
24 Mar 2010 : All other acceptance notifications
SIGIR paper submission process includes the submission of an abstract a week prior to the full paper submission deadline. SIGIR has adopted this policy ever since we started requesting abstracts a week before the paper deadline, so that the bidding process can happen and not lose time. In view of preserving equal treatment for all contributors:
No full paper will be accepted if it does not correspond to an abstract submitted on time
No late submission of abstract will be accepted
No late submission of full paper will be accepted
